What does a corporate professional do after realizing his true purpose is to help people live healthier lives, and feel better? Starts a massage therapy business, of course. I'm Rick Boyd and I want to share my wellness journey.
First, I discovered the benefits of massage -- including lowering blood pressure, improving circulation which can give you more energy, and mitigating headaches. Want more information? The Mayo Clinic expands on these benefits in a short article.
I realized I had a latent skill for massage therapy, earning my ABMP certification and opened an office in the Oak Lawn section of Dallas, Texas. I am also a certified Reiki practitioner
When COVID hit, people were, understandably, trying to limit the number of places they visited. Maintaining a clean, safe environment has always been a priority, but in light of the pandemic I also started offering home visits. I will come to you if that is your preference.
Life throws us curve-balls -- both physically and emotionally. Your body can store these emotional stressors in your muscles, and if not treated they can become debilitating through the years. I take a therapeutic approach to massage -- focusing on the muscles and not the "dressing." Yes, I can incorporate aromatherapy if you like, but I don't use a lot of oils and other products that you have to wash off.
Outside of massage, I like domestic and international travel, the Rolling Stones, and a good whiskey.
